  • Don’t be misled by a slightly dated exterior. The apartments are well equipped, with a very comfy bed and speedy wifi. The lady I met when I checked in was extremely helpful and booked me in on a tour to Cape Reinga the next day, despite my arrival well after 5 pm. The tour was excellent, and was extremely good value. The Loredo is well situated about ten or fifteen mins walk from food and drink in the centre of Kaitaia. A fascinating place, and a warmly recommended motel.

After quite a long drive it was lovely to be greeted by such a friendly face. The manager/owner was excellent and made sure we had everything we needed. The local knowledge was useful and we were pointed to the best eateries and attractions in the area.
The rooms were quite and clean and the beds were very comfortable.
They are also biker friendly so I look forward to riding up that way one day and enjoying their company again.

  • Great location for our stay in Kaitaia, with comfortable beds and a great bathroom. Loved the pool, which we enjoyed both nights as it stays open until 9, and was perfect for cooling off after a long day of travelling and sightseeing.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Bed very comfortable and room very clean. Equipment etc to.be able to cook for ourselves with Pack n save just up the road. Grounds are kept really well and although we did not use them there is a small swimming pool and a spa pool. Nothing is too much trouble here. Hand washed our laundry and able to dry on clothes line out back of laundry room but also have washing machine and dryer if needed. Ironing board in room and generally spacious . We had breakfast – delivered on time and portions ample. Good value for money.

  • Clean and relatively quiet motel close to shops and places to eat. Has small kitchen with everything you need. Bathrooms have been renovated and are nice and clean. Single level so no hauling bags upstairs 🙂 bed was comfortable.

Really nice, comfortable and quiet place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights and had Unit 9 which would accommodate up to 6 people, with the separate bedroom featuring queen bed and single, plus the main room area which also had a single, with a double fold out sofa bed. For the two us, this was very roomy indeed! Liked staying here, really clean, tidy and nice. And a very nice owner, who brought us some ice cubes, and a free daily newspaper.
